Just some notes, thoughts and reflections on design and museums.
Maddalena Dalla Mura (Udine, Italy, 1974)
Graduated in 2000 in Conservation of the Cultural Heritage from the University of Udine, with a thesis in Philosophy of Art. She received her PhD in Design Sciences from the University Iuav of Venice – with a thesis on design and museums.
Her research interests concentrate on design history and museum studies.
She has collaborated with the Faculty of Arts and Design of the University Iuav of Venice on various projects and has been a teaching assistant in visual communication programmes. She works as a freelance editor for publishers, institutions, design and architecture firms, and writes for newspapers and periodicals.
She edited, together with Giorgio Camuffo, the publication Graphic Design Worlds /Words, released on occasion of the exhibition Graphic Design Worlds (Triennale Design Museum, 2011).
Starting in January 2012 she will conduct research on ‘Graphic design, exhibition context and curatorial practices: new forms of cultural production’ at the Free University of Bolzano/Bozen (South Tyrol).
